Kasabian (/kəˈseɪbiən/kə-SAY-bee-ən) are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997. The band's original members consisted of vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Chris Karloff, and bassist Chris Edwards. The band's line-up was completed by drummer Ian Matthews in 2004 after a string of session drummers. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded new band Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006. Mehler left the band for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013. Kasabian are often seen as one of the best British bands of the 21st century and, in 2010 and 2014, won the Q Awards
for 'Best Act in the World Today'. They are well known for being
commended for their live performances, being named 'Best Live Band' at
the award ceremonies on numerous occasions. The band's music is often
described as "indie rock", but Pizzorno has said he "hates indie bands"
and does not feel Kasabian fit into that category.
Kasabian have released five studio albums – Kasabian (2004), Empire (2006), West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (2009), Velociraptor! (2011), and 48:13 (2014). The band's music has been described as a mix between The Stone Roses and Primal Scream with the swagger of Oasis. Their music has won them several awards and recognition in the media, including a Brit Award in 2010 for Best British Group, and their live performances are generally lauded, the most notable of which was their appearance as headliners at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival.

The Ocean Blue's earliest shows always consisted of a healthy dose of
covers by these bands. To this day, The Smiths and New Order covers
still punctuate concert encores.

He was known for his distinctive soulful voice, eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae and blues and sartorial acumen.
Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970, originally consisting of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). Queen's earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock, into their music.
Before joining Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had been playing together in a band named Smile with bassist Tim Staffell.
Freddie Mercury (then known by his birth name of Farrokh "Freddie"
Bulsara) was a fan of Smile, and encouraged them to experiment with more
elaborate stage and recording techniques after Staffell's departure in
1970. Mercury himself joined the band shortly thereafter, changed the
name of the band to "Queen", and adopted his familiar stage name. John
Deacon was recruited prior to recording their eponymous debut album in 1973. Queen enjoyed success in the UK with their debut and its follow-up, Queen II in 1974, but it was the release of Sheer Heart Attack later in 1974 and A Night at the Opera in 1975 that gained the band international success. The latter featured "Bohemian Rhapsody", which stayed at number one in the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks; it charted at number one in several other territories, and gave the band their first top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Their 1977 album, News of the World, contained two of rock's most recognisable anthems, "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions".
By the early 1980s, Queen were one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the world, with "Another One Bites the Dust" their best selling single, and their performance at 1985's Live Aid is regarded as one of the greatest in rock history. In 1991, Mercury died of bronchopneumonia,
a complication of AIDS, and Deacon retired in 1997. Since then, May and
Taylor have occasionally performed together, including a collaboration
with Free and Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers under the name Queen + Paul Rodgers which ended in May 2009. Since 2011, May and Taylor have collaborated with vocalist Adam Lambert under the name of Queen + Adam Lambert. In November 2014, Queen released a new album, Queen Forever, featuring vocals from the late Freddie Mercury.
The band have released a total of 18 number one albums, 18 number one
singles, and 10 number one DVDs. Estimates of their record sales
generally range from 150 million to 300 million records, making them one
of the world's best-selling music artists. They received the Outstanding Contribution to British Music Award from the British Phonographic Industry in 1990, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
Décrit par OffBeat magazine comme "New Orleans' longest-running and most successful rock band"
The Radiators, also known as The New Orleans Radiators, were a rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana, who combined the traditional musical styles of their native city with more mainstream rock and R&B influences to form a bouncy, funky variety of swamp-rock they called fish-head music. Described by OffBeat magazine as "New Orleans' longest-running and most successful rock band",
The Radiators' had only limited commercial success, with only a handful
of chart appearances, but, as a party band from a party town, their
enthusiastic live performances, danceable beats and relentless touring
earned the band a dedicated following and the admiration of many of
their peers. In a feat of continuity rarely seen in the rock music
world, the five-man line up in the year of their breakup (2011) is the
same one as when the band formed in 1978.
The Radiators had a repertoire which included over three hundred
original songs—many never released on album—and over one thousand covers
(or partial covers used as part of a medley). With the band's approval,
over 500 concert recordings have been made available for free (for
non-commercial use) on the Internet Archive.
On June 10, 2011, at Tipitina's in New Orleans, LA, during the second
of their final three concerts, The Radiators were inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
The Saints est un groupe australien originaire de Brisbane (d'abord nommés Kid Galahad and the Eternals).
The Saints are a rock band, originating in Brisbane, Australia founded by Chris Bailey (singer-songwriter, later guitarist), Ivor Hay (drummer), and Ed Kuepper
(guitarist-songwriter) in 1974. Alongside mainstay Bailey, the group
has had numerous line-ups. In 1975, contemporaneous with United States' Ramones,
The Saints were employing the fast tempos, raucous vocals and "buzz
saw" guitar that characterised early punk rock. With their debut single,
"(I'm) Stranded",
in September 1976, they became the first alleged punk band outside the
US to release a record, ahead of better-known acts including the Sex Pistols and The Clash. They are one of the first and most influential groups of the genre.
In early 1979, the Saints had imploded, leaving Bailey to continue the band, with a variable line-up. All Fools Day peaked in the Top 30 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart in April 1986. Bailey also has a solo career and had relocated to Sweden by 1994. The band was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 2001.
The Saints continue to record and perform worldwide. In 2014 Bruce
Springsteen covered their classic "Just like fire would" on his "High
Hopes" album.
Talk Talk was an English musical group, active from 1981 to 1991. The group was part of the Britishnew wave movement. They had a string of early hit singles including "Today", "Talk Talk", "It's My Life", "Such a Shame",
and "Dum Dum Girl". Always uncomfortable with the requirements and
pressure of the pop industry, Talk Talk moved away from synthpop toward
more experimental music in the mid-1980s. A few more singles, including "Life's What You Make It"
and "Living in Another World", achieved success in Europe and in the
UK, but their commercial appeal receded quickly as their critical
reputation increased.
The band broke up in 1991. Singer Mark Hollis released one solo album
before retiring from the music industry. Founding bass player and
drummer Paul Webb and Lee Harris played in a couple of bands together; de facto fourth member Tim Friese-Greene continued in the business as a musician and producer. Their final two albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, were highly acclaimed and remain influential to experimental alternative rock genres, especially post-rock. 25 years after the release of what The Guardian called their masterpiece (1988's Spirit of Eden),
Talk Talk was still praised as a classic example of a band refusing to
compromise its art to commercial pressure, and Hollis and his bandmates
are one of the acts that came out of the synthpop movement of the 1980s
whose music remains influential today.
Former Nothing But Happiness and Crash guitarist Ralske started Ultra Vivid Scene in 1987, was signed to 4AD Records in 1988, and released his first UVS EP, She Screamed, in 1988. The debut album Ultra Vivid Scene released October 1988, was written, produced and performed entirely by Ralske, whose influences include The Velvet Underground and The Jesus and Mary Chain. The second album, Joy 1967-1990, was released in April 1990. The same month they played their first tour dates in the United Kingdom.
The last album, Rev,
was released in October 1992, and was performed by a band comprising
Julius Klepacz (drums) and Jack Daley (bass) with Ralske on vocals and
guitar. This album was picked up by the Chaos imprint of Columbia Records (Sony Music Distribution) during the time rival Warner Bros. was having some success with its imprints' 4AD relationships (4AD/Sire, 4AD/Elektra, 4AD/Reprise).
As a live act, Ultra Vivid Scene performed only a handful of US dates
in support of the first album in 1989. The second album in 1990 was
supported by one month of touring in Europe and two months in the US.
1993 saw one month of US tour dates for the third and final album.
Ralske has gone on to do solo work, and has also produced albums for such artists as Rasputina, Ivy and Charles Douglas. His last known musical endeavor was the solo release in 2001 Amor 0 + 01. Since that time, Ralske has worked as a visual artist.
The band went on to become major stars, and by the early 1980s they were one of the most successful rock acts of the time. 1984 was their most successful album. The lead single, "Jump", became an international hit and their only single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The following singles, "Panama" and "I'll Wait",
both hit number 13 on the U.S. charts. The album went on to sell over
12 million copies in the U.S. alone. In 1985, the band replaced lead
singer David Lee Roth with ex-Montrose lead vocalist Sammy Hagar.
With Hagar, the group would release four U.S. number-one albums over
the course of 11 years. Hagar left the band in 1996 shortly before the
release of the band's first greatest hits collection, Best Of – Volume I. Former Extreme frontman Gary Cherone was quickly recruited as lead singer to replace Hagar, and Van Halen III
was released in 1998. Cherone left the band in frustration in 1999
after the tour due to the poor commercial performance of the album.
Van Halen went on hiatus until 2003 when they reunited with Hagar for
a worldwide tour. The reunited band released a second greatest hits
collection the following year, The Best of Both Worlds. Like Volume I before it, The Best of Both Worlds
included material from both the Roth and Hagar eras but omitted any
Cherone era tracks. The album featured three brand new tracks recorded
by the reunited band, two of which were released as singles. Hagar again
left Van Halen in 2005 and in 2006, Roth returned as lead vocalist for
their highest-grossing tour, and one of the highest-grossing tours of
that year. Anthony was not invited to participate in the tour and was
essentially fired from the band, replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie's son. In 2012, the band released the commercially and critically successful, A Different Kind of Truth, with Roth as lead vocalist. According to the RIAA, Van Halen is the 19th-best-selling band/artist in United States history, selling 56 million albums in the U.S. They were also revealed at number 4 on the Billboard's top moneymakers list in 2013. Van Halen is one of only five rock bands that have had two studio albums sell more than 10 million copies in the U.S. Additionally, Van Halen charted the most number-one hits in the history of Billboard 's Mainstream Rock chart and they are one of the world's best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 80 million records.
Van Halen achieved worldwide fame for their many popular songs and
larger-than-life stage performances; unfortunately, they also became
known for the drama surrounding the departures of former members.
Controversy surrounded the band following the exits of Roth, Hagar, and
Anthony; this controversy often included numerous conflicting press
statements between the former members and the band. In 2007, Van Halen
was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. VH1 ranked them 7th on their list of the top 100 hard rock artists of all time.

Early pioneers of the dark and moody electronic music known as dark wave, their 1980s releases included synthpop/electronic dance music.
Though the band is still active and continues to tour and release

only Moorings remains in the band today. After the departure of Nooten
and Wolbert in the early 1990s, their music turned increasingly goth.
Zebra is a hard rock band founded in 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It features Randy Jackson (guitar and vocals), Felix Hanemann (bass, keyboards and vocals) and Guy Gelso (drums and vocals). Their mainstream debut on Atlantic Records was in 1983 with their eponymous album, produced by Jack Douglas
and highlighted by the singles "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's
Behind The Door". Zebra got their start on the US East Coast club
circuit, frequently playing at clubs on Long Island.
Zebra started their career by playing covers of Led Zeppelin, The Moody Blues and Rush
songs; it was their early fans' reaction to their Led Zeppelin
renditions that helped convince the band to bring their act to New York.
They had introduced their original material into their cover sets years
before they were signed to Atlantic Records, including "The La La Song", "Free" and "Bears" (originally entitled "The Bears are Hibernating").
Zebra had been noticed by local colleges and even had some of their
early original performances recorded by Long Island FM radio station WBAB, culminating in the inclusion of one of their songs on a release of "WBAB Homegrown Album", which commemorated some of the station's best local acts and performances culled from their on-air "Homegrown Hour" program.
The band continued to tour throughout the 1980s but put a temporary
hold in the early 1990s after being dropped by Atlantic Records. Randy
Jackson formed his solo band, Randy Jackson's China Rain, and
released its only album in the year 1993. Zebra finally reunited in 1997
and released Zebra IV in 2003, their first album of all-new material
since 1986. A DVD of recent live performances, mostly from a show at the
House of Blues in New Orleans, was released in the summer of 2007.
On July 10, 2010, during their 35th-anniversary performance at New
Orleans' Mahalia Jackson Theater, Zebra was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.

XTC were a performing and touring band up until 1982. For the
remaining twenty-three years of XTC's existence they were a studio-based
project involving session players around a nucleus of Partridge,
Moulding and Dave Gregory.
