Billy Idol, né William Michael Albert Broad le à Stanmore dans le Middlesex en Grande-Bretagne, est un chanteur de rock britannique.
Il rejoint brièvement le groupe Siouxsie & The Banshees en 1976 avant d’intégrer comme guitariste le groupe punk Chelsea en 1977, qui deviendra Generation X après le départ de son leader Gene October (en) dont il récupère la place de chanteur-leader. Il entame ensuite avec succès une carrière solo américaine et internationale après la séparation du groupe.

William Michael Albert Broad (born 30 November 1955), known professionally as Billy Idol, is an English rock musician, songwriter and actor. Born in Stanmore, Middlesex, Idol first achieved fame in the punk rock era as a member of the band Generation X. Unlike other British punk rock artists of his era, Idol was inspired by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
Idol then embarked on a successful solo career, and was a member of the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" of the United States. A series of music videos for songs such as "Dancing With Myself", "White Wedding", "Rebel Yell" and "Eyes Without a Face" made him one of the first MTV stars. Idol continues to tour with guitarist Steve Stevens.
